Co-Opportunity for Learning Emergency Spill Response Training Event

May 25, 2010

Many of Bay West customers have training requirements for work. We thought, just because it's required doesn't mean it can't be fun!

Bay West has partnered with the St. Paul Fire Department & HAZMAT Team, Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) and Metropolitan Council Environmental Services (MCES), to make an educational, interactive, and fun training event set for Tuesday, May 25, 2010.

Many commercial and industrial entities have either in-house spill response teams or contracts with companies like Bay West for rapid spill response needs should they arise.  We’re hosting this event as a learning and training tool to benefit either situation by offering a change of pace from typical “classroom” style instruction and instead presenting hands-on training in 4 scenarios of a potential Hazardous Materials (HAZMAT) incident.

Training Topics Include

  • Petroleum Releases to Storm Water or Sanitary Sewer
  • Released Material Recovery & Consolidation
  • Fire Safety & Fire Extinguisher Training
  • Hazardous Categorization (HAZCAT) Exercise
