Taught by credentialed safety professionals, our Emergency Response Refresher course meets OSHA Hazwoper 29 CFR 1910.120 requirement for annual refresher training for employees who have previously completed the initial 24-hour or 40-hour Hazwoper training.

Course description: Receive hands-on, relevant training from the company that executes high hazard Emergency Spill Response cleanups on a weekly basis. This course is designed for general site workers who remove hazardous waste or who are exposed (or potentially exposed) to hazardous substances or health hazards during emergency spill response. The Bay West Advantage to you is that our course consists of opportunities to apply your learning, including group exercises, various hands-on demonstrations, and even knowledge share opportunities with Bay West Emergency Spill Responders also participating in the course (yes, we train our own experts!). Topics include HAZWOPER regulations, spill response awareness, hazard recognition/evaluation/control, basic toxicology, chemical protective clothing, decontamination, medical surveillance, respiratory protection, and atmospheric monitoring techniques. Don’t get stuck learning from instructors long since retired from the industry. Get your refresher certification from the industry experts.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion.

Taught by credentialed safety professionals, this Emergency Response Operations level course consists of three days of hands-on, relevant training activities along with small group exercises that will get you in compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.120. Our OSHA-compliant course is designed for the “occasional site workers,” meaning those individuals who are not required to handle waste or hazardous materials as part of their job functions. 24-hour OSHA Hazwoper is necessary for employees that respond to controlled and known spills as part of their company’s spill response team. Note – employees who have job functions that require handling or cleaning up hazardous materials that are unknown must complete the 40-hour OSHA Hazwoper initial training.

Course description: Don’t go through three days of lectures by retired industry folks without the safety professional credentials, or death by Computer-Based Training (CBT)! The Bay West Advantage to you is that our course consists of opportunities to apply your learning, including group exercises, various hands-on demonstrations, and even knowledge share opportunities with Bay West Emergency Spill Responders also participating in the course (yes, we train our own experts!). Our course includes understanding relevant state and federal regulations for Hazwoper, recognition of health hazards, risk assessment, levels of respiratory protection, selection and proper use of chemical protective clothing, decontamination, emergency response site safety plans, and the incident command system.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of completion.

This course is designed for treating adult patients utilizing the latest standards for first aid providers, as established by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR), First Aid Task Force, the American Heart Association, and the American Red Cross.

A blend of visual, video, verbal, and hands-on instruction is used to create a mixed learning environment in which students can learn-then-do, with CPR dummies providing immediate feedback as skills are practiced.

Topics covered include:

  • High-performance CPR
  • Use of an AED
  • Controlling bleeding
  • Swollen/painful/deformed limb
  • Cardiac arrest
  • Stroke
  • Heat stress
  • Cold stress

Learn from the company that executes Permit Required Confined Space Entry projects on a weekly basis in high hazard environments versus death by lecture from retired industry folks. Our course provides industry-relevant direction on how to evaluate spaces within your company to determine if spaces are permit required or not. Topics includes roles and responsibilities of entry supervisor, entrants, attendant and rescuers; permit execution; basic energy control procedures/methodologies; atmospheric monitoring techniques; and hands-on training with non-entry rescue.
