40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER Specialist Live Online and In-Person Hybrid Training! To comply with CDC requirements for social distancing, we are leveraging Microsoft Teams to deliver Day 1 of our 40-hour HAZWOPER Specialist Training.  You’ll get the same quality content from engaging, experienced instructors in a live, online format.  You will have the ability to chat and ask questions through the computer.  The remaining days, which require in-person engagement, will also comply with CDC requirements for social distancing, as we are limiting seats to eight people, and our training space is set up for every attendee and Bay West trainer to adhere to six-foot distancing at all times.

Day 1: Virtual meeting via Teams (link provided by Bay West shortly after registration); computer and internet connection required

Days 2-5: In-person training at Bay West St. Paul headquarters (5 Empire Drive, St. Paul, MN 55103)

To register, click the “tickets” link below.  Fill out the information with a valid email address.  You will receive an email with a calendar invitation to the Teams virtual session.  For Day 1, you will need a computer with an internet connection to participate in the training. WE will provide you with a link to a quiz during the last hour of the session. You will receive instant results, and we will go over the correct answers before the end of class to help you complete your training. The remaining days, you will head to Bay West’s St. Paul headquarters.

Taught by credentialed safety professionals, this Emergency Response Operations level course consists of five days of hands-on, relevant training activities along with small group exercises that will get you in compliance with OSHA HAZWOPER 29 CFR 1910.120. Our OSHA-compliant course is designed for the employees who have job functions that require handling or cleaning up hazardous materials that are unknown and/or responding to hazardous releases with the purpose of stopping the release.

Topics covered

Don’t go through five days of lectures by retired industry folks without the safety professional credentials, or death by Computer-Based Training (CBT)! The Bay West Advantage to you is that our course consists of opportunities to apply your learning, including group exercises, various hands-on demonstrations, and even knowledge share opportunities with Bay West Emergency Spill Responders also participating in the course (yes, we train our own experts!). Our course includes understanding relevant state and federal regulations for HAZWOPER; recognition of health hazards; classification and determination of respiratory protection along with how to select chemical protective clothing; utilization of atmospheric monitoring equipment; decontamination, emergency response site safety plans, and the incident command system.

Upon successful completion of the course you will receive a certificate of 40-hour completion.
