Intern (Geologist or Engineer)

Bay West is seeking an Environmental Geologist or Engineer Intern to work on a project related to the evaluation and remediation of a contaminated site. The primary project assigned to this individual is operation and maintenance of a contaminated groundwater pump and treat system located on the University of Minnesota West Bank. Assignments will include working as an individual and as part of a project team to assist with tasks and projects.

Project Manager - Environmental

Due to the growth of Bay West in our commercial environmental consulting services, we are seeking an environmental project manager. This position will primarily manage projects at contaminated properties in Minnesota and Wisconsin including environmental due diligence sites (Phase I and II environmental site assessments), brownfield redevelopment sites, and investigations and cleanups for commercial and public sector clients. Other projects may involve petroleum limited site investigations, regulated materials assessments, or other environmental projects.

SITE SUPERVISOR - Environmental Services

Our Site Supervisor will  provide direct supervisory, technical, and administrative support for Bay West's Industrial Services (IS) Line of Business.  The position requires the ability to travel to primarily in-state project sites, occasionally on short notice.

GIS ANALYST II - REMOTE

We are seeking a GIS Analyst II who is interested in working with all aspects of an enterprise GIS architecture for a growing environmental investigation and remediation firm.  Responsibilities include working with GPS and mobile data collection systems, managing enterprise GIS databases, authoring GIS web applications and providing spatial analysis capabilities.  Day to day operations include the generation of custom GIS figures and maps, supporting client requests for data and analysis, training field staff and providing great customer service.  Candidate must be hardworking, responsible, and able to adapt to new technologies.

Our EMERGENCY RESPONSE TECH II - Equipment Operator will provide daytime site supervisor services for field teams conducting emergency spill response activities involving hazardous and non-hazardous materials releases to air, soil, surface and groundwater so that they are performed in an efficient, safe and professional manner.

As a Vac Truck Driver you'll be safely collecting and transporting our clients facility wastes to an appropriate end facility. There will be opportunities to work independently and as part of a team.  As a valued member of the Bay West operation you will be on call for emergency response work. Project Chemist

As a Project Chemist, you will protect the public and the environment by accurately collecting and validating data that will help Bay West best decie how to prevent or mitigate contamination.You'll be responsible for the coordination of analytical services, internal and external client analytical database support, verification and validation of analytical data, and reporting of data quality. This position will support and collaborate with a diverse group of Bay West’s Program and Project Chemists, Project Managers, Project Staff, Field Staff, Database Coordinators, and the laboratory subcontractors.

Bay West Meeting Ground Rules

Be ready to begin on time for all meetings, phone calls, and appointments.
Email an agenda to participants at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of any meeting that covers multiple topics or that would be best run using an agenda.
Turn PDA/cell phone to vibrate/quiet during training, meetings, or coaching sessions so as not to interrupt the meeting. Use professional judgment when taking calls during meetings. Be respectful of everyone’s time.
