This Opportunity

We are seeking a Geologist I to join our team! You will conduct borehole geophysical logging to support various clients at the Hanford Site in Washington. Borehole geophysical logging tools include specialized high-purity germanium (HPGe), spectral gamma logging systems (SGLS), neutron moisture logging systems (NMLS), passive neutron logging systems (PNLS), gyroscopic logging systems and others as needed to support the clients’ individual project needs.  

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Mobilize systems to and from well sites
  • Prepare equipment and execute borehole geophysical logging procedures
  • Conduct inspections and carry out maintenance tasks on equipment
  • Evaluate field data for Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) validation, ensuring that logging systems operate within calibration criteria
  • Provide detailed field notes and adhere to procedures to maintain data accuracy
  • Evaluate and interpret field-level geophysical log data
  • Demonstrate proficiency in interpreting lithologic logs and comprehensive understanding of various drilling methods
  • Support to the Hanford Geophysical Logging Project (HGLP), undertaking tasks as required, whether in the office, shop, or field.
  • Interface with the clients, as needed

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree Geology, Earth Sciences, or Related
  • Must meet the eligibility criteria for obtaining a Professional Geologist License in the future
  • Zero to three years of experience in Geology/Geologist role
  • Valid Driver’s license and the ability to obtain Class B or A Commercial Driver License
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal
  • Able to work as part of a dynamic team in the field
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, effective time-management, and strong organizational skills
  • Able to follow established policies and procedures

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with radiological data, wellsite geology, site characterization, geological or geophysical data analysis and reporting
  • Understanding of gamma spectroscopy and/or the electronics of gamma spectroscopy
